Toyota Chaser JZX100 Turbo 5 Speed:

The Toyota Chaser is a mid-sized sedan that was produced by Toyota in Japan from 1977 to 2001. This Toyota Chaser JZX100 Turbo 5 Speed is a third generation model that was produced from 1996 to 2001, with the Tourer V being the top-of-the-line model. The chaser Tourer V came equipped with a 2.5-liter 1JZ-GTE turbocharged inline six cylinder engine, which produced 280 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque from the factory. In terms of appearance, the Tourer V has a more aggressive body kit with a front spoiler, side skirts, and rear bumper diffuser. It also came from the factory with 19 inch alloy wheels and smoked headlights. Overall the Toyota Chaser Tourer V was a high-performance version of a well respected Japanese sedan. It’s popularity in Japan has made it a highly sought-after import for enthusiasts around the world. Luckily, this one has got all of the JDM taste, and a suite of tasteful modifications to go along with it. On the exterior, the factory wheels have been swapped for some 18inch Gravity wheels. Toyota’s OEM Black looks fantastic on this chaser, and surprisingly is in excellent condition given the age and road use of this vehicle. Some aftermarket coil-overs tighten up the ride a bit, and give some level of customizability to its next driver. Out back, you may even notice the custom dual exhaust that puts out a beautiful note from the 1JZ. Inside, a host of gauges and creature comfort upgrades have transformed the experience of being behind the wheel of this JZX. A Recaro Bucket Seat sits in the driver position, and in front of that is a Juran Racing Deep Dish steering wheel. The interior of the vehicle is in very fair condition, and one of our favorite changes is the custom carbon fiber interior accent trim in the center of the dashboard. As far as driver oriented modifications go, a set of 3 Defi gauges for water and oil temp, and oil pressure sit near the head unit. Under the hood, you’ll find the legendary 1JZ-GTE VVT-i. While the engine itself appears relatively stock, a blitz style cone filter a painted valve cover dress up the engine bay a bit. While this vehicle has an unverified 74,801km on the odometer, we suspect that when the vehicle was swapped over to manual, the gauge cluster may have been replaced as well. Overall this 1998 Toyota JZX100 Chaser Tourer V is a great vehicle that offers form and function. It’s no wonder it was so popular in Japan, and with them getting harder and harder to find, especially in such good condition, there’s not a better time to get behind the wheel of one yourself!
