Aside from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs the one-off Wellington White paint is in good nick and this Landy is set off by refinished deep dish Bradley alloys, an OEM front lip, factory rear apron, an aggressive rear spoiler, and wide fender flair extensions. Reliable, refined, and ready to roll, this Japanese Classic would make for a durable daily driver, terrific trail truck, or wicked weekend cruiser. The cabin is modern feeling and includes tons of neat options and upgrades. The driver can find the ideal driving position thanks to an adjustable steering column. Dual SRS airbags are standard, and the dashboard lacks any cracking, fading, or distortion. The infotainment touchscreen is large, modern looking, and intuitive to operate. The audio quality is good, too, and the adjacent climate control system is a breeze to utilize. The heat works like a charm and is supplemented by front-seat heaters. The air conditioner blows cold too, in case you live in a hotter climate zone. Power windows, locks, and mirrors all work in typical Toyota fashion making daily use enjoyable. The seats are comfortable and protected by fitted, fashionable leather covers. Also, spec’d from the factory is the desirable, fold-away rear row which increases capacity to seven. The cloth upholstery lacks any major rips, stains, or tears. The door cards are in good shape and the anthracite-colored headliner is almost mint. Even the carpets have withstood the past twenty-five years without sustaining major abuse. Finally, for those who like all the accouterments, the owner’s manuals, and maintenance booklets are still sitting inside the large glovebox. The 2UZ-FE engine was sold here in the US so parts are easy to find and they are inexpensive, too. The V8 is fresh off an oil and filter service and churns to life promptly thanks to a new 12v battery. A new fuel filter keeps unwanted contaminants out of the 4.7L engine. To keep the engine oil level on full, we have resealed the lower oil pan. The 2UZ is linked to a stout automatic gearbox that shifts like a champ. Power is funneled to both axles through a Full-Time 4WD. For off road excursions, a low range and center locker are on hand. It gets up to highway speeds quickly and is peppy from stoplight to stoplight. The suspension was heavily refreshed and this thing drives like a dream. One of our trained technicians has replaced the left front ball joint, rear upper and lower control arms, and front wheel bearings. We didn’t stop there as new inner and outer tie rods were installed as were the rear sway bar links and bushings. A fresh alignment was performed to ensure she drives straight as an arrow and the brand new 33′′ Falken tires last as long as possible. The steering rack was completely rebuilt and new rack bushings were added for good measure. The ABS brake are able to slow this rig down confidently and this Landy can handle daily use and abuse with the best of them. Turn key and ready to roll, this reliable, capable, and cool Cruiser won’t last long!
