It's hard to find a truck that checks the boxes like a 100 series, and it's easy to see why these terrific Toyotas seem to be nothing short of bulletproof The 2UZ-FE under the hood is a tank, and is the perfect pairing for this heavy duty hauler. This sizable 4.7l V8 is chock full of smooth power and responsive torque, and is fresh off a recent service here at the shop. It cranks over swiftly, and we installed a new 12v battery and alternator to turn it over the first time, every time. This Cygnus is also fresh off an oil and filter service, and jets up to highway speeds with ease. Driving thi

s Cruiser is a real treat. The automatic transmission is smooth, and throws power to a fulltime 4WD system. For real sticky situations, 4WD low is handy and makes propulsion on loose surfaces easier. The rear differential was also flushed and filled with new fluid to keep power transfer butter smooth. The factory height-adjustable suspension is pillow-soft and soaks up road imperfections, and we installed new rear upper control arm bushings, and new front and rear swaybar links and bushings, so it would pass its state inspection with flying colors. The power steering is light and on point after a fresh fluid flush, and we bolstered the ABS with new front brake pads. The off-road wheels are wrapped in fresh Falken tires, which should offer plenty of grip and comfort to go off the beaten path. Freshly aligned, they track straight as an arrow and this Cygnus is about as turn key as you can get!
