The U31 moved to a QR25DE 2.5L or VQ35DE 3.5L V6 on the L-class platform shared with the Teana, with FWD or AWD. Both generations were Japan-domestic only. U30 models from 1998 are subject to NHTSA's manufacture-date 25-year provision under the 25-year rule; U31 models from 2003 reach NHTSA's manufacture-date age threshold from 2028 onward.
