Description

Boasting an incredibly low 38k verified and documented miles on the clock, this super Subie would make for a cool and collectible weekend cruiser, competent canyon carver, or a fun family hauler that can be daily driven. The folks at Subaru were onto something when they designed the original Impreza WRX. The second iteration was a huge improvement, and this 2001 is faster, safer, and more rigid than its predecessor. Finished in a classic Midnight Black (08V), this sedan is set off by an OEM rear spoiler, OEM rear spats, OEM front spats, OEM projection headlamps, an OEM rear wing, and a free-fl

owing STi Genome exhaust. Aside from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs, the paint is in good shape, and this one-owner vehicle is fresh off a recent service. Boasting an incredibly low 38k verified and documented miles on the clock, this super Subie would make for a cool and collectible weekend cruiser, competent canyon carver, or a fun family hauler that can be daily driven. Sporty, fun to drive, and easy to service, this impressive Impreza is a bona fide Japanese Classic. The cabin is much more modern-looking than the car it replaced, and this one has held up really well over the years. Sure, that could be attributed to this GD’s minimal use, but we also know the owner clearly cared for it in a prior life. The dashboard lacks any cracking or fading and dual SRS airbags are standard equipment. An OEM MOMO wheel feels great in the palms of your hands, and drivers of all sizes can find the ideal seating position thanks to a tilt-adjustable steering column. Power folding mirrors, power locks, and power windows all work as they should, making daily use more enjoyable. If you plan to use it nightly, this WRX also includes adjustable OEM HID headlights. The center stack is easily reachable and a simple-to-use automatic climate system pipes in cold A/C and piping hot heat. Adjacent to the HVAC, we installed a new USDM Boss radio with Bluetooth integration. It sounds decent and supplements that boxer burble. The seats are supportive and upholstered in black cloth. The material lacks any major rips, stains, or tears and is in good shape overall. The door cards, carpets, and headliner are in good shape, and it’s clear this Impreza was cared for in life overseas. Fashioned low in the chassis, Subaru’s beloved EJ205 powers this sedan. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the 2.0L churns to life immediately courtesy of a new 12v battery. A new engine air filter, fuel filter, and a set of spark plugs were installed as part of our tune-up, and a new set of accessory belts and a new alternator work to keep the electronics properly powered. We replaced the MAF, and the EJ runs right as rain, now. It’s linked to a five-speed gearbox that lacks any hitches or grinds. A transmission fluid service was performed, and new shifter bushings were installed so that rowing up and down the tree is even more rewarding. Power is fed to both axles through Subaru’s symmetrical AWD system. The WRX accelerates impressively well, and when you need to slow down, large disc brakes, new front brake pads, and standard ABS make things easy. The suspension can handle the rigors of daily use and abuse and feels predictable overall. The power steering is easy to manipulate, and grip is handled by four new Falken tires that we mounted and balanced at each corner. The new rubber reduces road noise and will last for tens of thousands of miles to come.
