Description

This R34 GT-R was purchased as a spare car for the Automotive Forums World Challenge Team in 2005-2006. This Altia car is a pre production R34 GT-R, and while not an N1 chassis, was modified and raced in N1 racing in Japan. The Altia R34 GT-R was a factory-built, motorsport-focused version of the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34, created specifically to compete in Japan’s Super Taikyu (Endurance Racing) Series a grueling form of touring car endurance racing. and early 2000s. It was built upon a preproduction chassis R34 GT-R, a rare lightweight, homologated R34 GT-R used as a base for racing. Only a handful of these early preproduction chassis were produced by Nissan. The Altia R34 GT-R was modified extensively for Super Taikyu endurance racing: RB26DETT N1-spec engine, tuned for both power and long-term durability Custom suspension and chassis reinforcement Roll cage, racing seat, and full interior strip High-capacity cooling systems and brakes Race-spec aerodynamics, often seen with a distinctive Altia livery The Altia R34 GT-R competed in Super Taikyu (also known as N1 Endurance) races at renowned circuits like Suzuka, Fuji Speedway, and Twin Ring Motegi, marking the final generation of factory-backed Skyline GT-Rs in Japanese touring and endurance racing before the R34 was succeeded by the GT-R R35. Known for its exceptional reliability and balance, the Altia GT-R became a dominant force in the grueling endurance circuit, where heat management, fuel strategy, and durability were constantly pushed to the limit. Beyond its racing success, the car gained iconic status in GT racing culture, featured in video games like Gran Turismo, and remains a revered symbol among enthusiasts. Today, surviving Altia R34 GT-R N1 cars are ultra-rare collector’s pieces, perfect for a collector looking to showcase or drive at historic motorsport events.
