The CL7 Accord Euro R (2002-2008) carries the K20A 2.0L naturally-aspirated engine at 220ps, a close-ratio six-speed gearbox, and a Torsen limited-slip differential, equipment not offered in the North American Accord lineup of the same generation, which used the K24A 2.4L (CL9) or V6 alternatives. The Euro R trim was developed for the JDM and some European markets. Honda's domestic Accord sedan was consistently more driver-focused than its global equivalents during this era.

Other JDM Accord generations appearing in the marketplace include the CF8 SiR and CF4 SiR-T (1997-2002) in sedan and estate bodies, the CF4 carrying the F20B twin-cam naturally-aspirated, and the CL9 (2002-2008) using the K24A 2.4L.
