Kei trucks for sale

Kei trucks — known in Japan as keitora — are compact, four-wheel-drive mini trucks originally built for Japanese farm roads and tight urban delivery routes. Models like the Suzuki Carry, Daihatsu Hijet, Subaru Sambar, Honda Acty, and Mitsubishi Minicab are now widely imported to North America, where buyers use them for property maintenance, hunting access, and light hauling. Most have a 660 cc turbocharged engine, a sub-1,400 lb curb weight, and a dump or flatbed cargo bed. Because they were built for Japanese domestic sale, road-use registration varies by state — check your local DMV before buying.

Not road-legal in every US state. Kei trucks are off-road or farm-use only in many states and require special titling in others. Check the 50-state legality guide and the US import process before purchasing. Note: the 25-year rule waives FMVSS/EPA compliance but does not waive the 25% light-truck import duty (HTSUS 8704 — sourced from our import cost calculator ).
