Smart buyer checklist

Treat this as two groups. Required items protect you from payment loss and fraud — if a seller resists any of them, walk away. Ideal items help you assess the car's condition; when one is missing, factor it into your risk and your offer rather than treating it as automatic fraud.

Requiredfraud and payment-loss prevention

  • Confirm title status. Clean, salvage, rebuilt, or no title — and the title's jurisdiction — should be clear before you wire.
  • Confirm the car is importable to your location. That's your homework, not the seller's; if the import path is unclear, step back and verify before paying.
  • Read the bill of sale before you wire. "As-is" with no warranty is normal; anything that removes inspection or payment protections is a red flag.
  • Use a third-party escrow service; never wire to a personal account. For dealer sales, a wire to the business account named on the invoice is normal; for private-party sales, use escrow.

Idealvehicle-condition diligence; factor missing items into risk and price

  • Ask for the export certificate. If the car was exported from Japan recently, the deregistration document can help confirm provenance and timing. If unavailable: certificates for older imports are often filed away, so absence is a risk signal, not automatic fraud.
  • Ask for underbody, engine bay, and rear-quarter photos. Those areas reveal rust and repair work that hero shots can hide.If unavailable: the car may still be in transit or storage; review existing media and ask for fresh shots once it's accessible.
  • Consider a third-party pre-purchase inspection (PPI). A specialist inspection can catch issues that change the price. If unavailable: a PPI is often not feasible while the car is still overseas, so price the added uncertainty instead of treating it as proof of fraud.

Drive on this Minicab 4WD is four-wheel drive. 10 photographs of this specific vehicle are on this listing. It runs a 660cc engine. The 2000 Minicab 4WD came with a 5-speed manual gearbox, and that is what this one has. The point of four-wheel drive here is being able to finish the job in conditions that would strand a…

two-wheel-drive truck of the same weight. Mitsubishi supplied the Minicab to Nissan to sell as the Clipper from 2003, so the same truck ran in Japan under two badges. Minicabs sold into Japanese agriculture and light construction, and the factory list reflects it: a dedicated "Minori" farm specification, low-range transfer options and heavy-duty dump beds. Four-wheel-drive Minicabs were specified for exactly the conditions this one was built for wet fields, gravel tracks and loading yards. The odometer reads 18227. That reading of 18227 came to us without a unit attached, and we have left it exactly as found. Farms, vineyards, ranches, grounds crews and building sites are where Minicab 4WDs end up in the US, for the same reasons they ended up there in Japan Japanese sources describe the kei truck as a necessity for moving tools, crops and catch. We describe what is recorded and nothing more. If a figure is not on this page, it is because we do not have it on file. Price on this one is $9,800. Japan raised the kei displacement ceiling to 660cc in January 1990, and the 660cc unit in this 2000 Minicab 4WD was engineered to sit just inside it.

Asking-price context

JDMBUYSELL comparison data for this Mitsubishi Minicab; the basis line states the exact pool used.

Figures are shown in your selected display currency, and fall back to USD when live rates are unavailable.
