The 100 Series Land Cruiser is an uncompromising SUV. It’s tough, reliable, capable, and safe. This Cygnus model also heaps in a healthy dose of luxury. V8-powered overlander is fresh off a recent service. Boasting only 95k verified and documented miles on the ticker, this recently serviced UZJ100 is turn key and ready to rock and has logged a fraction of the use of the typical American examples. Packing loads of power amenities and gobs of space, these trucks make for fun family haulers, cool weekend cruisers, and decent dedicated daily drivers. A year-round Japanese Classic like this will move fast, as it is a joy to own, easy to service, and is as collectible as they come! This cabin was designed for a king, and the premium materials, factory options, and overall condition are impressive. Access is made more seamless thanks to functional keyless entry. Head, shoulder, and legroom are abundant, and the front occupants benefit from powered front seats and dual SRS airbags. The driver can find ultimate comfort courtesy of an electric tilt and telescoping steering column. A touchscreen Pioneer headunit is close by and looks modern. It includes Bluetooth integration so that you can keep your hands safely on the wheel. Power folding mirrors, power locks, cruise control, and power windows all work in typical Toyota fashion. The automatic climate system doles out cold AC and piping hot heat. While the rear A/C lines have been capped, it doesn’t seem to affect performance. If you prefer more natural ventilation, a large moonroof power tilts and retracts, and the rear quarter glass can butterfly outward with the flip of a lever. For winter use, dual front heated seats keep your buns toasty. The tan cowhides are in above-average shape compared to the average Land Cruiser we see. They lack any major rips, stains, or tears, and the same material is mirrored in the door cards. The headliner and carpets are in good nick, and even the owners’ manuals and maintenance booklets are included with the purchase of this luxury coach! Easy to drive in the 21st century, this Cygnus allows little to no road noise to penetrate the cabin, and it provides a truly special experience on or off-pavement. The body-on-frame platform is sturdy and can handle a lot of abuse. The 2UZ-FE under the bonnet has the same reputation, and ours is fresh off an oil and filter service. It churns to life promptly courtesy of a new 12V battery. A new fuel filter, engine air filter keep the V8 running right, and power is fed through a stout automatic gearbox. It shifts like a champ and feeds torque into a Full-Time 4WD transfer case. For beach trips and snowy mountain roads, a center locker can be engaged, as can low-range 4WD. The OEM height-adjustable suspension offers tons of ground clearance and rides decent for its age. One of our trained techs refreshed the Land Cruiser with new upper and lower control arm bushings. The ABS brakes feel confident, and the power steering is light and easy to articulate. The ICON wheels are all wrapped in new 33′′ Falken tires. Aside from some ticking from the exhaust manifold that goes away when it gets warm, it’s hard to complain about this truck’s mechanics. Turn key and ready to rock, this smooth-riding Landy is hard to beat and would be a wonderful and competent year-round ride!
