It was also clearly well cared for in a prior life, and is jam-packed with functional and accessible power equipment. It serves up ample head and legroom, compared to the 80 series that preceded it, and is safer too, thanks to the inclusion of standard dual front SRS airbags and ABS. The driver can maximize comfort behind the stylish OEM woodgrain steering wheel with a tilt-adjustable steering column and power lumbar adjustment. All passengers can breathe easy as the digital automatic climate control features cold A/C and hot heat. Adjacent to the HVAC, touchscreen Kenwood audio works like a charm and roars throughout the cabin. It’s Bluetooth equipped,d so the pilot can keep their eyes on the road for safety’s sake. If you prefer the soundtrack of nature or the raucous turbodiesel, all power windows unfurl with haste, and power locks and electric folding side mirrors are on hand too to assist daily use. This example was even ticked with an OEM electric moonroof which can tilt and retract. The rear bench is versatile. It flips completely forward to maximize the cargo hold and reclines to maximize road trip comfort. The headliner is tidy, and the carpets have resisted the past 28 years of use with minimal defects. It even includes the owner’s manuals and maintenance booklets, and a set of OEM carpet mats to protect your investment. The drivetrain of this Cruiser is as good as gold, and the 1HD-FTE under the bonnet is highly desired by enthusiasts. These tough turbodiesels are not only reliable and powerful, but they’re frugal to operate as a whole. We’ve done the legwork of fully servicing this J100, and she cranks over with haste, care of 2 new 12v batteries. We also preemptively replaced the fuel filter, and a new engine air filter keeps pesky contaminants from entering the 4.2L. We shored up any leaks with a new valve cover gasket, and topped it off with a fresh oil and filter service. With the maintenance performed, this 1HD runs like a champ, and an automatic gearbox sends power to all four wheels via a selective transfer case. The shifts feel confident, and a new transmission pan gasket keeps all the lubricant internal to the slushbox. For true off-road escapades and beach outings, a low range and center locker improve grip tenfold on loose surfaces. For a bit of drivetrain rehab, we installed new front sway bar links, and fully rebuilt the steering rack with new seals, boots, and inner and outer tie rods to keep the power steering light and direct. A new adjustable panhard bar was also installed to improve on-road stability. The ABS brakes bite hard, and additional stopping power comes courtesy of new rear brake pads. Four new Falken all-terrain tires we installed in the shop. Freshly aligned, this truck will track straight as an arrow, and the new rubber will last for tens of thousands of miles to come!
