Description

The Land Cruiser is a model synonymous with off-road capability, but this 1998 is also buttery smooth as Lexus over the tarmac. This intercooled diesel version is also efficient, powerful, and easy to service. The Land Cruiser is a model synonymous with off-road capability, but this 1998 is also buttery smooth as a Lexus over the tarmac. This intercooled diesel version is also efficient, powerful, and easy to service. Its handsome styling looks top tier in Stellar Blue (8L7), and this rig is further adorned by 16′′ WEDS Keeler alloys, an OEM spoiler, factory skid plate, multi-coat fog lights,

and an optional front brushguard. Aside from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs, the body is in good shape, and this 4×4 is fresh off a recent service. Offered with only 109k verified and documented miles on the clock, this terrific Toyota is barely broken in. Safe, civil, and ready to conquer Moab, this practical Japanese Classic does just about everything well. From off-road die hards to families on the go, this TX can handle all that’s thrown its way! The cabin is nicely appointed and spacious. Safety was Toyota’s focus during this era, and dual SRS airbags were made standard equipment. The driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column and a slate of electric features such as functional power folding mirrors, electric locks, and power windows. The center stack is close by and within arm’s reach if you need to make adjustments on the fly. The digital automatic climate system does out cold A/C and piping hot heat, and an additional rear heating system is key for cold-weather campouts. Above the climate controls is a new BOSS USDM radio. It features Bluetooth integration so you can keep your hands safely on the wheel. The upholstery is in good shape and lacks any major rips, stains, or tears. The same material can be found in the door cards. The rear row slides forward to accommodate more cargo, and an OEM security shade keeps prying eyes away from your valuables stored in the boot. The headliner is in good shape, as are the door cards, and as a whole, there is little to complain about within the cockpit. The powerplant is one heck of a legendary engine. This intercooled version of the 1KZ-TE is fresh off an oil and filter service, and whirrs to life with the twist of the key courtesy of two new 12V batteries. To keep things running tip top, a new fuel filter and engine air filter were installed. New accessory belts were chucked in to keep the electronics properly powered, too. So that the oil level stays full, one of our trained techs installed a new valve cover gasket. The 3.0L mill is linked to a stout automatic gearbox. We just performed a fluid service, so it continues to shift like a champ. The FullTime 4WD system is surefooted and has a center locker and low range for when you need additional traction. New input and output seals were replaced on the T Case for added peace of mind, and power is put the the ground seamlessly courtesy of new axle seals. For a large SUV, it hustles up to highway speeds with urgency and can slow down just as well, with standard ABS. New front brake pads and rotors were installed so that stopping distances are as short as possible. We completed rehabbing the steering system when it was on the lift. The rack was completely rebuilt with new seals, and we replaced the rack bushings and performed a fluid flush. So that we could dial in the proper alignment, we also installed new inner and outer tie rods. For state inspection, the rear upper control arms and front sway bar bushings were taken care of. Lastly, we mounted and balanced four new 31′′ Falken all-terrain tires. The new rubber looks mean, quells road noise, and will provide all the grip necessary for tens of thousands of miles to come.
