1998 C35 Nissan Laurel

, function, and serviceability, and our 1998 is a fantastic candidate for a weekend project, as it is in need of a new fuel tank to pass inspection here in Virginia. In Club S trim, this Laurel is stylish and offered with a respectable 104k verified/documented miles. The cosmetics are no worse for the wear, and aside from some scuffs, dings, and a previous front end repair, the Bluish Black Pearl (KJ6) paintwork is in fine shape. This C35 could make for a perfect project, and it goes without saying the Laurel is a perfect representation of Nissan’s 4 Door Sports Car spirit. If you’re handy with a wrench, this is a Japanese Classic you won’t want to miss out on. The C35’s interior saw massive improvements over the fit and finish of the prior generation and the cockpit is spacious, accommodating and attractive. A sweeping low-profile dash spans the width of the cabin and the dash materials are all in good nick, with no cracking, sun fading or other pesky wear to be found. The patterned cloth seats show no rips, tears, burns, or significant bolster wear. The switchgear is clear and easy to read, and an optional OEM touch screen multifunction display features controls for your A/C and heat, ready to acclimate the cabin as you see fit. Adjacent to the HVAC, OEM audio sounds above average for its age. The driver benefits from a classy woodgrain steering wheel, tilt/telescoping steering column, and dual airbags up front. Power amenities are abundant, and power windows, power folding mirrors, and power locks work flawlessly. The rear seats offer plenty of room for passengers of all sizes, and the trunk has more than enough space to transport goods during your day to day commute. Overall, it’s clear the previous owner cherished the condition of the interior, and aside from some steering wheel wear it’s hard to complain. We even retained the original owner’s manuals and maintenance booklets! The RB20DE under the bonnet is a fan-favorite, equipped with NEO VVL technology and a slew of easy to service mechanicals. Ours is fresh off an oil and filter service and this I6 cranks over with haste. It runs like a top and idles smoothly, and we even took care of a new timing belt, so the next owner need not worry about preventative maintenance. Power is sent via a smooth shifting automatic gearbox to the rear wheels. The stock suspension is comfortable, the ABS brakes bite hard, and the factory mesh alloys are wrapped in good rubber. The fuel tank is shared with the S14 platform, and would be an easy swap for an experienced home mechanic or DIY buff. This project has great bones, and is just a few fixes away from being a killer daily driver!
