Turbo diesel examples like this 1997 are efficient, doggedly determined, and easy to service. Finished in a classic Desert Dune Metallic over Gray (K03) this eight-seater is set off by 16′′ bullet style alloys, OEM rainguards, chrome tail light garnishes, and a stylish Ganador single exit exhaust system. Aside from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs, the paint is in fine shape, and this rig is fresh off

a recent service and includes a brand new Eibach 2′′ lift kit! Offered with a mere 98k verified and documented miles on the clock, this terrific Toyota is barely broken in! Boasting a spacious cabin with plenty of upscale materials, this KZJ95 would make for a safe, year-round family hauler, cool weekend hauler, or dedicated overland all-star. A Japanese Classic with surefooted 4WD is our forte, and this clean and capable Cruiser will surely sell fast! The cabin is in good shape overall and has an abundance of headroom, shoulder room, and legroom. It’s also nicely equipped, with a slate of standard electric amenities. The dashboard is simple in its design and includes integrated dual SRS airbags for those who might be safety conscious. The dashboard lacks any cracking or fading, and the center stack is close by and within arm’s reach. A BOSS USDM radio keeps tunes flowing through the cabin, and Bluetooth integration keeps your eyes on the roadway. The automatic climate controls below as simple to operate, and the A/C and heat work like a charm. For those riding in the rear, an upgraded rear passenger cooling system was spec’d from the factory, and is ideal for those summer swelters. If you prefer more natural ventilation, the side windows power down, the rear quarter glass pops outwards, and a massive panoramic moonroof can tilt and retract. The driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column and an upgraded seat that includes optional lumbar support. Power folding mirrors and electric locks make daily use more enjoyable and work in typical Toyota fashion. The blue and gray seats are supportive and lack any major rips, stains, or tears. The middle row can split fold, and slide forward to accommodate larger cargo. The rear row folds up against the d-pillar tidily, too and allows for more storage room. Aside from some light headliner and carpet stains, some steering wheel wear, and a missing rear ashtray, it is hard to complain about the cabin overall. This body-on-frame SUV is a brawny one. The intercooled 1KZ-TE under the bonnet is legendary, as well, and is renowned for its toughness. Fresh off an oil and filter service, this 3.0L churns to life courtesy of two new 12V batteries. To ensure optimal thermal management, we flushed the coolant, which isn’t scheduled to be done for another four years. The fuel filter is another diesel service we always perform, and that’s been taken care of, too. So that the oil level stays topped up, we installed a new valve cover gasket. The 1K runs like a top and feeds torque through a stout automatic gearbox. It slots into gear with precision thanks to new shifter bushings, and it shifts just as it should. The Full Time 4WD transfer case includes a center locking differential and a low range, should you need to take the path less travelled. It puts power to the ground seamlessly, and we have installed a new right rear axle seal to keep things that way. It gets up to highway merging speeds with confidence and slows down equally well with its standard anti-lock braking system. We have reduced stopping distances a touch, as one of our trained techs has installed new front and rear brake pads and rotors. For state inspection, we installed new front sway bar links and rebuilt the steering rack entirely. Not only were new seals installed, but we then added new rack bushings and boots. To dial in the proper alignment, new inner and outer tie rods were installed as well. The alloy wheels were then wrapped in expensive 33′′ Falken rubber. The new tires look mean, quell road noise, and will last for tens of thousands of miles to come. With a ride as smooth as butter and capability that is hard to match, we think these are the perfect sports utility vehicles!
