Description

A Japanese Classic with old school flair really tugs at our heartstrings, and we doubt this one will stay around the dealership for long at all! Proof positive you have a seriously good SUV design might be the fact that its been in production for over four decades. This 1994 Land Cruiser is simple, sturdy, reliable and capable. Its also iconically styled, with its angular, no-nonsense boxy aesthetic. Finished in a classic Toyota Black (204) this classic Cruiser is adorned with polished Bradley IX alloys, privacy tint, OEM running boards, and chrome mirror caps and door handles. Aside from a fe

w light dings, chips, and scrapes, the paint is in fine shape, and this turbodiesel is fresh off a recent service. Boasting only 131k verified and documented miles on the clock, this 4×4 has tons of life left in it. Whether pressed into service as a unique family hauler or set up as a dedicated overlander, this terrific Toyota can do it all. A Japanese Classic with old school flair really tugs at our heartstrings, and we doubt this one will stay around the dealership for long at all! The cabin is simple, spacious, and equipped with a surprising amount of electric amenities. For starters, power locks, power mirrors, and power windows all function in typical Toyota fashion and make daily use more enjoyable. The driver benefits from a tilt adjusting steering column and electric adjustable lumbar support. A Nardi woodgrain steering wheel adds an upscale feel and is in good shape. Unlike almost every 70 this one has a nearly pristine dashboard that lacks any typical hairline cracks from sun exposure. The center stack is close by and includes a simple to use factory climate system. A/C and heat are on standby, and if you want some tunes to supplement your motoring, a period-correct Pioneer headunit is on hand. The gray and blue patterned cloth upholstery is in good nick. The same can be said for the door cards which utilize this same material. The middle row can slide forward to accommodate more cargo and the rear jump seats can be stowed tidily against the D-pillars. The headliner is in good shape as are the carpets, and even the owner’s manual is included with the purchase of this lovely landy. Unlike most new soft-roading SUVs, the Prado is built on a traditional body on frame platfom. Power is derived from one of Toyota’s best diesel designs, the 1KZ-TE. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the three liter whirrs to life courtesy of two new 12v batteries. From there, we replaced the engine air filter and fuel filter, and performed a fresh oil/filter service to ensure you won’t come up short on lubricant when needed. New accessory belts help all systems operate as they should, and with the maintenance performed this 1K feels healthy as a horse and pulls strong all the way to redline! The automatic transmission was just flushed with new fluid, and if the going gets tough 4WD can be deployed alongside automatic locking front hubs for ideal traction. While 2WD and 4WD can be selected seamlessly, one of our trained technicians noted a normal seepage of grease from the front hub assemblies. With a classic 4×4, maintenance is key, and we’ve replaced both transfer case output seals to keep all fluid internal. To shore up the handling a hair, we installed all new shocks, new front panhard bar bushings, and installed a steering damper to help this 70 feel more composed at higher speeds. The brakes do a fine job at bringing this box to a screeching halt, and to further aid traction and reduce road noise, we’ve mounted four new Falken all-terrains to deliver plenty of grip when needed most!
