beating it up off the beaten path. Best of all, the odometer shows a measly 96k verified and documented miles from the motherland, which does a lot to cement this one’s value in the market. Built to tackle trails, but plenty capable of daily duty after being recently serviced, this mile cruiser is a cherry chassis, a timeless truck, and a certified Japanese Classic! The interior is clean, inviting, and puts most domestic market examples to shame with its condition. Factory suede upholstery adorns both rows of seats and shows well, aside from some age-related pilling on the driver’s seat base. Tucked snugly into the front of the cabin, the dashboard shows no major defects apart from a couple notable cracks atop the gauge hood. Moving towards the center stack, upgraded Panasonic audio features touch screen functionality and larger door speakers retrofitted in. Adjacent to the radio is a fully functioning automatic climate control unit, with freshly charged A/C and toasty hot heat available at the push of a button, with functionality in both front and rear zones. At this point, the Land Cruiser nameplate is synonymous with utility, and this rig is equipped with all the power amenities needed to make daily driving or long road trips a cakewalk. Power windows, power locks, power mirrors, and even a power moonroof all function as expected, and sliding rear windows come in handy to funnel in that last bit of natural ventilation. By far the most interesting feature is the OEM cool box integrated into the center console. It’s fully functional and even features a factory ice maker. The headliner is tidy and snugly affixed to the roof, and the plush carpeting beneath is easy to clean and keeps dust and dirt at bay. Overall, for a cabin that’s 30 years young, it should please most occupants, save for some minor wear on the shift knob and a missing plastic driver’s side mirror trim piece. Sharing a powerplant with USDM models has its perks, and our trained technicians have gone through the legwork of fully servicing this Land Cruiser for your future endeavors. The 1FZ-FE is a durable brute of an engine, and parts are available on the cheap. Our trained technicians have given this one a hefty refresh, starting with a new 12v battery that was chucked in to aid ignition. A fresh coolant flush ensures internal temperatures stay in check, and we took the brain out of this beast for a full ECU rebuild. With a lifetime warranty on the repair, future electrical gremlins should be kept at bay. An automatic gearbox sends power to a selective transfercase, which makes the most of Toyota’s legendary full-time 4WD system. The front differential was flushed with new fluid, and we also rebuilt both front hubs with new bearings and seals, saving the next owner from a costly drivetrain service. The lifted suspension was shored up with new rear upper and lower control arms, and we replaced the front panhard bushings to help this Cruiser ace its state safety inspection. A few other suspension components show light wear commensurate with age, but the truck drives tight and predictably overall. The steering is easy to maneuver and direct, courtesy of a fresh alignment, and the brakes stop on a dime. The aftermarket 16′′ alloys are wrapped in fresh Falken all terrains, which look dang good and most importantly will take this lovely Landy wherever you need it, for tens of thousands of miles to come!
