Our Mitsubishi Canter started life as a Japanese Fire truck with a small portable pump box. Its a more rare flatop version with a short 100” wheel base. We started almost a year ago at the NWORally trying to find a vendor with the ability to build an Australian inspired UteTray and Canopy that would match the Cab of the awesome Canters. We contacted Ralph at Summit Expedition Trucks and contracted initially and 8’ ute tray with bed sides knowing well enough that the Canopy was a must have and in January the construction started on the 6’ (3/4) canopy. It took nearly a year for the vision to come to fruition and just a few weeks before the 2023 NWOR we recieved the bed and canopy and got quickly to fitting it. The lines matched up perfectly, and powder coated black aluminum fabricated design is beyond exceptional. Weve been camping out of the canopy and sleeping in the RTT almost every weekend this summer. We worked with local colorado based Alcan spring for the 2.5” lift pack, and spent about 9’months RnD developing the steel super singles with Trail Worthy Fab in oklahoma. The frontrunner rack was custom fitted at the shop here and their undermount pro stainless prep table mounted fitted well to T-slotted ceiling of the SET Canopy We are currently planning to swap out the RTT to a better fitting and more user friendly wedge design called the Blue Dot Voyager from IKamper
