Quick answer

The Suzuki Every is a Japanese kei van, sold as the commercial Every and the passenger Every Wagon. These pages cover DA52 (F6A engine, January 1999), DA62 (K6A update, September 2001) and DA64 (new body, August 2005). Check turbo or naturally aspirated and the 4WD system by grade.

Background

Overview

The Suzuki Every is Suzuki's kei van, sold in Japan as the commercial Every and the passenger Every Wagon. These guides cover three chassis phases across two body generations: the DA52 from 6 January 1999 with the F6A engine, the DA62 from 4 September 2001 with the K6A, and the DA64 from 26 August 2005. Suzuki counts the Every as a continuation of its Carry Van line, which began with the 1964 Suzulight Carry Van. Each page has its own grade, recall and import detail.

Quick read

Key takeaways

  • Suzuki counts the 1999 body (DA52 and DA62) as the tenth Every and the 2005 body (DA64) as the eleventh, counting from the 1964 Carry Van.
  • Route codes name the van. The Every Wagon (DA52W, DA62W, DA64W) shares each generation and is covered on the same page.
  • DA52 uses the 657 cc F6A. DA62 and DA64 use the 658 cc K6A, naturally aspirated or intercooled turbo.
  • Turbo and 4WD system depend on grade. Among DA64 vans only the JOIN Turbo has full-time 4WD; DA52 turbo 4WD became full-time on 25 November 1999.
  • Check Suzuki's recall lookup by frame number. Each generation has its own build-range recalls and warranty extensions.

  • Recalls and warranty extensions are published by frame number and build range

Chassis history

Generation timeline

Dates are Suzuki's Japanese sale starts. The route names follow the van, and the Every Wagon shares each generation. Each generation page has its own tables and checklist.

Tenth generation — DA52V/DB52V/DA52W (1999–2001)

DA62V

Tenth generation — DA62V/DA62W (2001–2005)

Identification

Chassis-code reference

Generation names are broad families. The factory chassis codes below identify the variants represented in JDMBUYSELL's current Suzuki Every guide data.

Tenth generation — DA62V/DA62W (2001–2005)
Chassis code: DA62V
DA71V
Chassis codes: DA71V, DB71V, DA41V, and DA51V
DE51V
Chassis codes: DE51V and DF51V
DA52V
Chassis codes: DA52V and DB52V
Eleventh generation — DA64V/DA64W (2005–2015)
Chassis code: DA64V
DA17V
Chassis codes: DA17V and DA17W

Confirm the complete code on the vehicle's frame or VIN plate; drivetrain, body, and market variants can use different prefixes within one generation family.

Market

Differences between JDM & USDM

These guides describe the Japanese-market Every and Every Wagon and use Suzuki's Japanese specification sheets, releases and recall notices. Export-market and converted vehicles are not covered. Registration is a separate step from import clearance, so check the rules for your state or province.

The buyer's read

Pick the generation first, then the grade. The DA52 (January 1999, F6A engine), DA62 (September 2001, K6A engine) and DA64 (August 2005, redesigned body) each have a page with a grade table, recalls and a checklist. Each page covers the Every van and the Every Wagon of that generation.

On any Every, read the full model code on the plate and the frame number. Suzuki's recall search works from the frame number, and its recalls and warranty extensions are published by build range. Turbo or naturally aspirated and the 4WD system depend on the grade, so check them against Suzuki's table for that date. Work out import age from the manufacture date on the plate, not the model's launch year.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How many Every generations do these pages cover?
Three routes: DA52 (F6A, 1999), DA62 (K6A, 2001) and DA64 (2005). Suzuki's heritage pages count the 1999 body as the tenth Every and the 2005 body as the eleventh, so DA52 and DA62 are one body generation with two engines.
Do these pages cover the Every Wagon?
Yes. The passenger Every Wagon (DA52W, DA62W, DA64W) shares each generation with the van, and each generation page covers its Wagon grades as well as the vans.
Which Every is the turbo?
Turbo and naturally aspirated grades appear across DA52, DA62 and DA64. The turbo is an intercooled F6A in the DA52 and an intercooled K6A in the DA62 and DA64. Check the grade and the 4WD system on its chassis page.
Can I import an Every to the US or Canada?
The US 25-year rule runs from each car's manufacture date (49 CFR 591.5(i)). EPA's separate exemption requires at least 21 years since the production year and the original engine configuration; replacement engines must be equivalent or newer EPA-certified engines with their emission controls. Canada counts 15 years by manufacture month and year. Check state or provincial registration rules separately.
