X-Trail listings span the T30 (2000-2007) and T31 (2007-2013) generations. The T30 is a compact SUV built on a platform shared with the Almera and Primera, offered in Japan with QR20DE 2.0L four-cylinder or QR25DE 2.5L powertrains; a JDM-exclusive X-Trail GT variant added the SR20VET turbocharged 2.0L producing 280 PS (206 kW) from 2001, discontinued when Japan's 2005 emissions regulations took effect.
