FTO listings cover the DE2A/DE3A platform produced from October 1994 to 2000 — a JDM-only front-wheel-drive 2+2 coupe that won Japan Car of the Year for 1994-95 and was never federalised for the US market. Three engine options span the range: the 4G93 1.8L four-cylinder in the GS and GR trims, the non-MIVEC 6A12 2.0L V6 in the GX, and the MIVEC 6A12 in the GPX and GP Version R rated at 200 PS at 7,500 rpm with a redline past 8,000 rpm. A mid-cycle facelift in February 1997 updated the fascias, retuned suspension geometry, and replaced the INVECS-II 4-speed automatic with a Jatco F5A5 5-speed paddle-shift unit on V6 cars. The GP Version R is the highest-spec factory variant, adding Recaro seats, a Momo steering wheel, a viscous LSD, twin-piston front brakes, and a strut-tower brace as standard; five-speed manual examples are rarer than automatics across the range. Models from 1994 are US-eligible under the 25-year rule; the final 2000 cars entered eligibility in 2025.
