Offered with a mere 141k verified and documented miles on the clock. Perfect as a daily driver, practical kid hauler, or weekend adventure mobile, this Japanese Classic won’t let you down! The cabin is nicely equipped and features a more modern, darker color palette than what we are used to. The dashboard lacks any cracking or distortion and dual SRS airbags are standard for those riding up front. The driver benefits from a tilt adjustable string column and they also have integrated lumbar support that can be inflated to ease back discomfort. Power locks and electric mirrors make daily use more enjoyable and an upgraded touchscreen Eclipse head unit pumps the tunes in! As a later third-generation vehicle, an upgraded digital climate system makes adjustments a breeze. Cool A/C and piping hot heat fill the cabin with a twist of the dial, and if you prefer more natural ventilation, the rear glass and side windows power down electrically. The seats are protected by a set of custom-fitted leather seat covers. They lack any major rips, stains or tears and match the updated door cards and armrests. Thats not to say the cabin is perfect, as we wanted to note the sunglass holder is missing. Still at 25 years of age interior condition is remarkable, and ven the owner’s manuals and maintenance booklets are included with the purchase! The rig is powered by the same trusty four-banger engine sold in the US. The 3RZ-FE is a tough little cookie, and this one is fresh off an oil and filter service. It churns to life care of a new 12v battery and a new engine air filter and new fuel filter work to promote top-tier fuel economy. To ensure proper thermal management a new radiator was installed by one of our trained technicians and a fresh coolant flush was performed. The 2.7L pulls hard to redline and is linked to the transfer case through a five-speed stick. Gear changes feel much more rewarding and direct thanks to a new set of shifter bushings. The gearbox lacks any hitches or grinds and allows the driver more control over the platform than a conventional automatic. 4WD can be engaged on the fly and an optional center locker is helpful with keeping momentum moving forward on the trailhead or beach. We shored up the driveline with a set of new rear axle seals, and new front CV boots. The suspension is predictable and connected and offers loads of ground clearance. New lower control arms were installed for state inspection and we replaced the front sway bar links, too. Over pavement the Surf doesn’t beat you up and highway cruising is comfortable. The ABS brakes slow this truck down quickly thanks to a brake fluid flush, and new rear drums and shoes are on hand out back. The power steering is light yet direct and grip comes from four new 31′′ Falken tires that were mounted and balanced here at the shop. They look mean and most importantly, will last for tens of thousands of miles to come. Turn key and ready to rock, this enthusiast special won’t last long.
