Description

In the US, and many of our haulers were downmarket, shoddy tin boxes on wheels. In Japan, transporters like the Granvia couldn't be any different. The term minivan sometimes has a negative connotation when brought up in conversation. It’s understandable in the US, and many of our haulers were downmarket, shoddy tin boxes on wheels. In Japan, transporters like the Granvia couldn’t be any different. Spacious, safe, and efficient, this terrific Toyota is fresh off a recent service and has logged a mere 55k verified and recommended miles. Finished in a Grayish Green Metallic over Blackish Green (2

AZ), this curvaceous vehicle is set off with refinished 16′′ OEM Hilux alloys, OEM rainguards, and a factory rear spoiler. Aside from a few dings, chips, and scuffs associated with normal use, the body is in good shape. Packing a FullTime 4WD system and an incredible turbodiesel powerplant, this vehicle would make a dependable delivery machine, a useful daily driver, and might just be the perfect base for an overlanding build. Entry to the cabin is made more seamless thanks to OEM keyless entry. The driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column and a power seat back to find the ideal driving position. Both front occupants rest in comfy captain’s chairs with integrated armrests, and dual SRS airbags are standard equipment. The backlit gauges are easy to read, and the center stack is close by and within arm’s reach. We upgraded the OEM radio to a USDM Boss Audio headunit. It includes Bluetooth hands-free technology, and above, a simple-to-use digital dual-zone climate control system resides. The A/C blows cold and the heat is piping hot, so that this van can be enjoyed year-round. If you prefer more natural ventilation, both front windows roll down with the press of a button, and two massive sunroofs can be opened for a light breeze. The side glass also butterflies outwards for better air flow. Other amenities that make daily use more enjoyable include power locks, power folding mirrors, and a heated and cooled center console that can maintain your beverage’s proper temperature. The headliner and door cards are in good shape, and even the owners’ manuals are included with the purchase. The cloth upholstery is in good shape, and even sports optional OEM lace covers up front, which gives the cabin some JDM flair. Aside from the lack of rear seats, a non-functional driver power seat slider, and the non-operating power sliding door function, it’s hard to complain about the interior. On the positive side, the sliding door still soft closes, and the power curtains are operable to promote cabin privacy. The massive storage area provided is incredible for hauling and is ideal to use as a blank canvas for the new owner. Under the skin, this van is a beaut! Its 1KZ-TE engine is also a gem, and it’s fresh off an oil and filter service. It churns to life care of a new 12V battery, and a new engine air filter and fuel filter give it a bit of a tune-up. The 3.0L is linked to a stout automatic gearbox that makes good use of the low-end grunt produced by the four-banger. The FullTime 4WD system delivers all the year-round grip you’ll ever need, and these Granvias can handle beach trips and soggy trails with the best of them. It hustles up to highway speeds quickly and is a comfortable cruiser with its long wheelbase. The suspension is predictable and can gobble up large and small potholes alike with confidence. We did shore up the driveline with new upper control arms and ball joints. The ABS brakes slow down this big old Toyota with ease, and grip comes from four new tires that we mounted and balanced at each corner. The new rubber quells road noises and will last for tens of thousands of miles to come. The power steering is light and easy to articulate, and parking is as easy as it gets. It also drives straight as an arrow care of a fresh alignment. Turn key and ready to rock, this goody-filled Granvia is a rig that does a lot for not much coin!
