New to the JDM OFFROAD Everett location this, 1998 Mazda Scrum Dump Truck
84619 Original miles
Built in partnership with Suzuki the Mazda Scrum is very similar to its Suzuki counterpart.
The Mazda Scrum was so similar that many parts can be interchanged with the Suzuki Carry.
This helped Mazda add to its vehicle catalog without the large infrastructure investment.
The Scrum ( a rugby term ) first started production in 1989 as a rebadged Suzuki Carry.
The Scrum focused on being an affordable utilitarian truck for the Japanese public.
These trucks were powered by a 660 3 cylinder engine producing 32hp. Most commonly also fitted was a 5speed manual transmission and 4wd system. Mazda also offered a number of accessories that could be fitted during production like lift gates and dump beds.
This Mazda Scrum has a dump bed fitted to it. allowing its 750lbs payload to be “dumped” out easily.
Powered by an electric over hydraulic single ram it raises the bead to near 90*. The control for this ram is located in the cab, a rocker switch for “DOWN and UP”. Also fitted to this 4×4 was a differential lock and axel lock.
For those people looking for a work horse with lots of features look no further.
