It’s hard to think of a platform more versatile than the Toyota X100 chassis. A luxury sedan that’s built a reputation as a legendary transporter, drift taxi, circuit hero, and car show standout, The JZX100 turned the Toyota Chaser into the icon it is today, and many car enthusiasts in the US have long yearned to own one of these powerhouse Toyotas for themselves. Since becoming legal for import in 2021, the US market has seen a tremendous influx of X100 Toyota Mark II’s, Chasers, and top of the line Crestas, and enthusiasts have scrambled to experience this iconic platform for themselves. This particular JZX100 Toyota Mark II “Grande” was optioned from the factory with Toyota’s durable 1JZ-GE engine, this naturally aspirated I6 is the perfect powerplant for daily driving and pairs nicely with the equipped 4 speed automatic transmission. The exterior of this JZX100 is freshly refinished and shows extremely well. Finished from the factory in Toyota 057 Pearl White, this vehicle was resprayed to black in Japan and back to white under our ownership. The paintwork is clean and there is no accident record on the vehicle, only minor signs of repair on the rear bumper. While the JZX100 is one of the most popular chassis for aftermarket modification this one has luckily remained completely stock on the exterior, down to the OEM front lip and multi spoke alloy wheels. The interior is equally as clean and luckily has been maintained quite well over the past 26 years. The factory patterned cloth seats are in good shape, with no rips, tears or bolster wear. The light grey interior obviously shows some signs of wear but most upholstered interior bits are still in impressive condition. The dash is in great shape, with no damage whatsoever, and the factory faux wood trim in the center stack has held up quite nicely as well. The digital climate control display features functioning AC and oscillating vents, and a double DIN head unit with USB and Bluetooth capabilities adds just a touch of modernity to the otherwise very 90’s interior. The digital instrument cluster displays just 102,978 actual kilometers. Averaging out to about 64k verified miles this vehicle has clearly been babied ever since it rolled off the production line. Turn the key and the 1JZGE engine fires right up and idles smooth. The second generation of 1JZ engines saw significant improvements, including a more responsive variable valve timing system and a power bump from 168 to 197 hp. The engine is 100% stock and acceleration is seamless and responsive throughout the rev range Shifts through the automatic transmission are smooth and power is put down to the rear wheels with ease. Multiple traction control and throttle control modes are available for an additional fine tuning of the driving experience.
