The Nissan Pao is a retro-styled three-door hatchback manufactured by NISSAN for model years 1989-1991. The Pao was one of Nissan’s retro-styled cars produced at its Pike factory, along with other memorable models like the Be-1, S-Cargo, and Figaro. Just under 51,700 units were produced over a three-year span. Features include a power canvas top, split tailgate with electric hatch release, flip-up rear quarter windows, power steering, air conditioning, hand-crank windows, and a folding rear bench.
The Pao is based on a Nissan Micra/March chassis, power comes from a carbureted 987cc inline-4, rated at 50 horsepower. Output is sent to the front wheels through a 3-speed automatic transmission.
