Smart buyer checklist

Treat this as two groups. Required items protect you from payment loss and fraud — if a seller resists any of them, walk away. Ideal items help you assess the car's condition; when one is missing, factor it into your risk and your offer rather than treating it as automatic fraud.

Requiredfraud and payment-loss prevention

  • Confirm title status. Clean, salvage, rebuilt, or no title — and the title's jurisdiction — should be clear before you wire.
  • Confirm the car is importable to your location. That's your homework, not the seller's; if the import path is unclear, step back and verify before paying.
  • Read the bill of sale before you wire. "As-is" with no warranty is normal; anything that removes inspection or payment protections is a red flag.
  • Use a third-party escrow service; never wire to a personal account. For dealer sales, a wire to the business account named on the invoice is normal; for private-party sales, use escrow.

Idealvehicle-condition diligence; factor missing items into risk and price

  • Ask for the export certificate. If the car was exported from Japan recently, the deregistration document can help confirm provenance and timing. If unavailable: certificates for older imports are often filed away, so absence is a risk signal, not automatic fraud.
  • Ask for underbody, engine bay, and rear-quarter photos. Those areas reveal rust and repair work that hero shots can hide.If unavailable: the car may still be in transit or storage; review existing media and ask for fresh shots once it's accessible.
  • Consider a third-party pre-purchase inspection (PPI). A specialist inspection can catch issues that change the price. If unavailable: a PPI is often not feasible while the car is still overseas, so price the added uncertainty instead of treating it as proof of fraud.

was Japan's best-selling truck nameplate for thirty-nine consecutive years from 1971, passing four million units by 2010. The DD51B code identifies this 1994 Carry SD Dump 4WD as a ninth-generation Carry, built from 1991 to 1999. Japanese buyers bought Carrys by the hundred thousand for farms, markets and building sites, so a 1994 example is the product of decades of unglamorous refinement. Under it is the F6A, a 660cc 3-cylinder engine. Suzuki built the F6A in carburetted, injected and turbocharged forms and in both six-valve and twelve-valve single-cam heads, and that breadth is part of why it survived so long. The DD51B runs a manual gearbox. Listed drivetrain equipment includes a locking differential and selectable 2WD / 4WD high / 4WD low. The odometer reads 30,580. The source recorded no unit alongside that figure, so 30,580 is reproduced exactly as stored rather than converted. Tipping beds like this are what turn a two-person unloading job into a one-person one. What you see is what we have: a White Carry SD Dump 4WD on our lot, not a listing for a vehicle still in an auction hall. Price on this one is $13,900.

Asking-price context

JDMBUYSELL comparison data for this Suzuki Carry; the basis line states the exact pool used.

Figures are shown in your selected display currency, and fall back to USD when live rates are unavailable. Active asking-price pools use current active listings, not verified sale prices or an appraisal. For sold pools: sale price when reported; otherwise, the listing’s last asking price. Samples of fewer than 5 comparable listings are not shown. Lighter shading means fewer examples, not higher precision. Source: JDMBUYSELL listing data.
