It’s well-built, dependable, capable, and beloved by enthusiasts the world over. It’s a frugal way to get into an intercooled, turbodiesel SUV, and our trained technicians have performed all the necessary maintenance to make daily driving a breeze in the 21st century. Finished in Wheat Beige (S22) over Hanover Green (G31), it looks the part too, and is set off by a slick factory brushguard, dual amber driving

lamps, OEM rainguards, and aftermarket 15′′ BADX alloys. Save for a few chips, dings, and spots of paint fade, it’s hard to criticize the cosmetics on this 1992, and Mitsubishi diehards will surely be taken aback by the 92k verified and documented miles on the clock. Steadfast, rugged, and fun to putt around, this would be an ideal truck for off-road use or a city commute. It’s turnkey ready to hit the trails, and in this condition, we have to deem it a certified Japanese Classic! The interior boasts the most expensive option on this truck short of the drivetrain. Grey leather upholstery adorns three spacious rows of seating, and this Pajero was equipped with optional internal seat suspension to absorb the imperfections of rougher pavement. Even better, both front captain’s chairs are heated for those cold winter mornings. Save for some stress cracks, the cowhides are in good shape, and the same can be said for the vinyl dash up front. The driver benefits from a tilt-adjustable steering column, power windows, power mirrors, and power locks. Aside from the power folding function of the mirrors giving up the ghost, all these items work, and make daily use more enjoyable. The center stack is all original, boasting OEM audio and a digital automatic climate control unit that was ahead of its time. The latter can pump out cold A/C and hot heat, and dual-zone controls allow it to reach the passengers in the rear of the cabin. The seating arrangements are versatile. The middle row reclines if your passengers need to catch a quick snooze, and it can also flip forward if more cargo space is desired. Third row jump seats can deploy in a pinch, too. A factory upgrade, the massive panoramic moonroof opens wide to provide loads of natural light and a breeze that fills the cabin. The headliner is taut and tidy, and the door cards have resisted major abuse over the past three-plus decades. Save for some scuffs in the cargo area, a non-functional compass, and some light carpet staining, we think the next owner will be really pleased with how it’s held up! Even the owner’s manuals and maintenance booklets are included with the purchase of this Pajero. This body-on-frame SUV is tough, and is the 2.5L turbodiesel beneath the hood. Its global reputation is sterling, and the Pajero even competed in the illustrious Dakkar Rally. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the intercooled four-banger churns to life courtesy of two new 12V batteries. A new fuel filter was installed so unwanted contaminants stay out of the engine, and one of our trained techs also replaced the valve cover gasket, which had developed a leak. The 2.5L runs well and is linked to a stout automatic gearbox. Power is fed to the rear wheels or both axles through a selectable transfer case. For the occasional snow storm or beach cruiser, a low-range 4WD and center locking center differential can be engaged. We refreshed the driveline by resealing the front and rear differentials and performing a fluid service. The suspension can handle the rigors of daily use and abuse, and new front shocks have been installed to smooth out the ride quality. They have done wonders, and we also performed a fresh alignment to make sure that the brand new Falken all-terrain tires last as long as possible. The power steering is light and easy to articulate, thanks to a flush, and this Mistu tracks straight as an arrow. It also slows down promptly as we have replaced the front rotors, front brake pads, and rear brake pads prior to its mandatory Virginia state policy safety inspection. Turn key and ready to rock, this reliable, efficient, and capable SUV is a winner!
