The Crown is the longest running nameplate in Toyota’s lineup, and has long been regarded as a versatile, luxurious transporter for both normal passengers and high-profile clientele. The Crown came available in a few different styles, a basic sedan, a practical wagon, and the top of the line model, the Crown Royal Saloon, which came optioned with a naturally aspirated variant of the legendary 1JZ engine, air suspension, and a plush interior with full power amenities. The original Dark Blue metallic paint on this Crown has held up exceptionally well over the years, with zero signs of hazing or peeling on the clear coat. The factory rectangular headlights have been replaced with round headlights, which do a great job of smoothing out the body lines on this luxury sedan. The front and rear chrome bumpers are free of rust and pitting and look fantastic when coupled with the chrome door handles and fender mounted mirrors. The original wheels have been removed in favor of a set of 15” chrome steelies, an interesting choice that helps achieve a sort of “reverse VIP” look. In true 80’s fashion, the interior is color matched to the exterior, and the factory blue cloth and trim look almost factory new! This car was obviously designed as a transporter, which is evidenced by the front and rear bench seats, which have the space to hold 6 passengers! This vehicle has both Front AND rear full power seats, giving every passenger complete control over their own comfort. Rear passengers also have access to their own climate control settings and audio volume. This obviously isn’t your average 80’s sedan! Toyota enthusiasts will be pleased to know that the stout and reliable 1JZ-GE lies under the hood. Although it does not make as much power as its turbocharged sibling, the engine revs smoothly throughout the powerband, shifting effortlessly through the gears of the 4-speed automatic transmission. The air suspension provides a comfortable and luxurious ride for you and all your passengers. If you’re a JDM enthusiast in the market for a car built for a king, this may be the Crown you’re looking for.
