The Laurel is one of the more versatile platforms in the Nissan lineup. These were popular with the drift world, stance scene, or as a stock luxury cruiser. This particular C33 has had a few nice modifications making it a sporty daily without sacrificing looks or ride quality. The body has been kept stock, which is great since these cars have a very unique look on their own. Since these don’t have a traditional B pillar, the hardtop sedan makes for a killer profile. Finished in one of Nissan’s most popular colors, Charcoal Pearl Metallic (KH2) makes it even more of a head turner. The paint has been kept in great shape and been kept free of any notable concerns. The color is rich and the sun really pops the metallic flake. The body has been kept in good shape, however there are some routine door dings and imperfections to be found.
The interior has been kept largely original and in great shape. The steering wheel has been replaced with a much nicer wood grain to match the trim. The wood trim is all in place but could use a little love to bring back to it’s original luster. The radio has been replaced with a 1.5 din which means upgrading to a newer double din would be simple. The seats and door panels are finished in a the super hard to find grey suede fabric which is a nice change up from the typical cloth. The driver seat has been kept up well however there are some marking on the seat bottom. The passenger seat is in great shape and the rear seats appear to have been hardly used. The seats used in the Laurel are far more supportive and comfortable than the average Nissan seat they were using. All are free of any notable rips or tears, the same can be said about the carpets. The power windows, locks, and mirrors are all operating as they should. The same can be said about the climate control and the A/C is nice and cold.
The Laurel was fitted with the RB20E mated to a 4 speed automatic. The two of these make for an awesome cruiser that could easily pull daily duty. The RB fires right up and quietly idles along. Since it has the factory exhaust there’s no obnoxious droning at highway speeds. The suspension has received several quality upgrades to give this C33 a proper ride. G Master Premium coilovers on Swift springs take care of lowering the stance on the rare 4 lug 16″ SSR Professor SP1R wheels. The wheels themselves are in great shape and really play off the charcoal body. To round out the suspension a set of Cusco upper control arms and Cusco lower toe arms were fitted. The gauge cluster was replaced at some point and is currently registering 55K miles. Based on the condition of it I feel that it doesn’t seem terribly far off, but since we can’t verify when it was swapped it is being sold as unverified mileage. With the versatility of the C33 this car has gobs of potential. It could be left alone as an awesome turn key driver’s car or you could use it as an excellent build platform.
