1995 Subaru Impreza Version 2 STI ‘555’ edition. One of just 500 examples produced for the Japanese market to commemorate Subaru winning the World Rally Championship in 1995 with Colin McRae.
In my ownership, I have returned the car back to standard, this didn’t require much. I replaced an aftermarket air filter with an original airbox and also replaced an aftermarket boost controller with the original. In my opinion, it drives much better this way with a more torquey and better power curve.
Everything else about the car is completely standard and original too. Except for:
● The exhaust (rear muffler)
● Stereo head unit
● Speedlines, while period correct, not original, the original wheels come with the
car.
● A smaller Nardi steering wheel, comes with the original nardi.
The car suffers from no rust at all and was stored in a heated garage during my ownership All the arches and undersides are as solid as you would expect from a Japanese import.
Cambelt was changed 500kms ago and has had a full service, will be sold with a brand new WOF. Has a new set of Michelen Pilot Sport 4
All the seats and carpets are original and are in good shape too, with some wear.
The air conditioning is ice cold, and all the interior electrics function as they should. In essence, this car is as good an example of a version 2 Impreza as you are likely to find.
The 555 is a difficult model to find now. This unmolested example is a true time capsule and jumping in is pure mid-90s WRC nostalgia.
