Our rugged (yet adorable) 94 Mitsubishi Delica L400 Turbo Diesel is up for grabs. She is a sought after model with manual transmission. Toki was imported from Japan to British Columbia in 2020, where we purchased her from a dealer and had her imported to the States. She has been living between CA and UT since then.
Service/improvements since we bought her:
• Injectors replaced/tuned (Rush Diesel) 2021 ($800)
• Regular oil changes
• New wipers
• New rear hydraulic lifts for hatch
• A/C serviced summer ‘22- blows cold!
• New original Mitsubishi dash cover installed ($200)
• New stereo and speakers ($600)
• Custom 2 inch hitch ($425)
• Professionally installed Yakima roof rails and roof rack/basket ($900+)
• Locally made bad ass ALTA 6 bike rack (optional for an additional $600, retails for over $700)
The Good:
• Low miles around 84,200 (mostly highway!)
• Everything works- power windows/doors, key fob, AC, stereo, all gauges
• 4WD (Hi and Low, with locking differentials in each mode) works flawlessly and makes this van mind-bogglingly capable both in the snow and off road.
• 2 sets of tires- Blizzacks and (new in 2021) quality Toyo Open Country AT set (currently on the vehicle)
• Middle seat included (in storage – available to see for serious buyers)
• Great color and graphics in good shape for a 26 year old van
• Interior shows well – no major rips tears stains or smells.
The not so good:
• Angel crack in upper left part of the windshield
• Small and non-structural rust spots consistent with a vehicle this age and origin (ahem…Japan).
We have taken great care of Toki and are reluctant to sell, but would love to see her go to a good home. As with most Japanese Domestic Market diesels, Toki is very torquey in the lower RPM range and while not built for mach speed, she happily rolls sweet at 75mph on the highway, which is a vast improvement over the previous generation L300 Delicas..
