The Nissan Silvia S14 is a sports coupe produced by Nissan from 1993 to 1998. The S14 Silvia was first introduced in 1993, as a replacement for the S13 Silvia. The S14 featured a more aerodynamic body design, with a longer and wider wheelbase. It was powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine, which produced up to 217 horsepower. In 1997, Nissan introduced the facelifted version of the S14, which became known as the “Kouki” model. The Kouki featured a redesigned front bumper, grille, and headlights, which gave the car a more aggressive and modern look. The taillights were also redesigned, with a more angular shape and clear lenses. Under the hood, the Kouki received a few upgrades as well. The turbocharged SR20DET engine was upgraded with a ball-bearing turbocharger and larger injectors, which increased power output to 227 horsepower. This specific example of a Kouki S14 has had a plethora of additional modifications that any enthusiast will enjoy.

The striking and aggressive appearance the revamped Kouki fascia exudes is unmistakable, and with this Blue exterior reminiscent of the popular Bayside Blue color found on some GTR’s, it certainly grabs your attention. An aftermarket body kit aids the stance and poise of this Silvia and complements its aftermarket wheels and stance very nicely. Speaking of wheels, a set of Gold 18 inch XXR 551 wheels have been added to this vehicle to replace the set of Blue-on-black Rays Gram Lights wheels that it arrived with. You may notice that the pictures feature both wheels at the moment, and this is so you can see both ways the vehicle may be purchased. We definitely think you’ll like the Gold on Blue however, because not only are the wheels the perfect offset and width at 18×9.75 +22… they also complement the Orange/Gold Paintjob done in the Engine Bay! Getting the ride height dialed in and adding some additional handling are a set of Tein Coilovers. A MISSION aftermarket hood adds some additional ventilation to the engine bay and keeps with the aggressive look. The same story is at the rear of the S14 where a Carbon Fiber adjustable wing sits atop the trunk. The exterior of this S14 is so much more than words can describe, though it should be noted that although this vehicle is incredibly clean, it has seen its fair share of use and upon close inspection will not be perfect.

The interior of this Silvia matches up with the aggressiveness of the exterior with a host of sport and driver oriented modifications that embody the JDM modified car spirit. While everything may not be covered in this description, please reference the modification list to see all items noted on this car. As the driver, you’ll find yourself seated in a nice BRIDE Bucket seat, with a Momo deep dish steering wheel positioned in front of you. A wide assortment of gauges, monitors, and electronic adjustment modules are spread around in a manner that make them easy to read while driving. There are four Defi Gauges, used to monitor Turbo Pressure, Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, and Water Temp. An Assura S10 is position directly behind the steering wheel for driving metrics. There is also a Blitz Hi-Def Boost Controller, and a Defi differential pressure controller for turning up the power or helping kick the rear end out around corners! There is also an aftermarket shift knob, and as many enthusiasts may be familiar with- a “Drift button” mod done to the handbrake that allows drivers to rip the E-Brake while on the road to lock up the rear wheels to initiate a drift without having to hold the E-brake button to return the lever to its original position. A neat touch is that this S14 even features its OEM Silver Floor Mats! While we mention the head unit In almost every post, it feels almost insignificant compared to the rest of the cool items in this interior. This S14 features a Panasonic CN-HDS620D Head Unit. The same story of the exterior can be found inside as well, as there are some imperfections like minor holes or tears in the interior, but nothing that takes away from the functionality or comfort of the vehicle.

What makes these Silvia’s so desirable beyond their attractive looks and driver oriented interior is the powertrain that brings it all together. In the U.S. we never received the highly exalted Turbo-Charged 4 cylinder that enthusiasts crave. Now after 25 years we are finally able to get our hands on them, and they continue to impress as much as the day they rolled off the factory floor. This engine is none other than the SR20DET Turbo inline four cylinder. But this particular example has more than just the stock powertrain, and has a healthy assortment of modifications that add to the desire of this Silvia’s heart. To start, this S14 has had a 6 speed transmission swapped in, and features an OGURA Clutch. As intended from the factory, all the power is sent to the rear wheels. The engine has gotten some attention from its previous owner, and features an Apexi HPI Radiator with HPI intercooler piping, a Blitz intercooler, and an Apex High-Performance Intake. An Aftermaket exhaust that we suspect is Tomei helps the engine breathe as well. This SR20 even has an upgraded aftermarket Turbocharger which helps push even more power out of this stout powertrain. Some spitfire spark plugs are a nice upgrade that help with the consistency from this modified output S14. While we have yet to test it out, we do believe this S14 has even more modifications that we haven’t mentioned here like a hydraulic e-brake setup. It is getting harder and harder to find unique quality examples of these S14’s, especially Kouki models since they were only produced for a couple of years. This Nissan S14 is one that is equipped for spirited driving whether it be at the track or on backroads, and is sure to put a smile on your face and draw the right kinds of attention you want as a JDM enthusiast!
