The Toyota Classic was produced in 1996 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the brand’s inauguration, and the debut of the 1936 Toyoda Model AA. Being a limited production model, only 100 units were ever built, and they were sold exclusively in Japan between 1996 and 1997.
Each one was finished in a Black Metallic and Red Mica two-toned exterior, with red leather seats, and complementing burgundy carpet. Built on the chassis of a Toyota Hilux Pickup truck, the Toyota Classic is powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine and paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission, producing 96 horsepower, and 118 lb-ft of torque. Each one includes modern luxuries such as power adjustable mirrors, windows, and locks, as well as heating and air conditioning; but with a retro-style appearance that would appeal to fans of the 1930’s era automobiles.
